Getting Around Bali
Bicycles are commonly available for hire from hostels and hotels, and are a great option for a day trip.
Two main bus services operate in Bali – tourist buses, run primarily by the operator Perama, and Trans Sarbagita Bus public buses. They’re more challenging than private cars and taxis, but that’s reflected in their lower price.
It’s possible to rent a car or motorbike in Bali, but be aware that road rules are haphazard, traffic is often terrible and accidents are common. Outsourcing the driving to a local professional will allow you to relax and focus on the sights rather. Get a recommendation, shop around and make sure you’re comfortable communicating with your driver.
Taxis are widespread throughout south Bali and Denpasar, and Blue Bird Taxi is the most reputable company on the island. Always insist on the meter!
