To reverse the climate, take a glide around the Olympic-sized Dubai ice rink, located on the ground level of the Dubai Mall. The rink is feature packed with an enormous 20 metre x 10 metre LED screen, a café, seating capacity for 360 people and a shop to purchase skating accessories and souvenirs. For the skating novice there are a variety of classes to master the sport and special disco sessions to keep it funky.
If you prefer the challenge of the downhill, consider checking out the first indoor ski resort in the Middle East. The Ski Dubai slopes provide ample opportunities to ski, snowboard or toboggan down the man-made snow. There are five runs in the resort with the longest being 400 metres at a gradient of over 60 metres. Each of the runs are at different levels so that beginners and advanced skiers are kept entertained.
While in the region, consider venturing down to Oman for the fascinating medieval forts scattered throughout the country.
