Catch the Glenelg Tram
A jaunt across the park to where South Terrace meets Peacock Road will see you at Adelaide's only remaining tramline which, after years of neglect, has recently seen plans for expansion take hold. The route travels south in style to the beachside area of Glenelg. Two modern styles of tram, along with refurbished 1929 H-class trams, carry passengers to the beachside suburb.
At the palindromic Glenelg, you can walk along the jetty, take a dip in the water and enjoy a quick bite at one of a number of seafront cafés. The buildings provide another area of interest: Glenelg is the oldest established colony on mainland South Australia and the architecture dates back to the 1830s.
Wander through Veale Gardens
In the Adelaide Reserves at the south of the Central Business District, you’ll find Veale Gardens, named for William Veale - Adelaide's Town Clerk from January 1947 to November 1965.
