Adelaide's Town Hall is less than a five-minute walk from the Hotel Grand Chancellor on Currie. When it was built in 1866 it was the biggest municipal building in the Southern Hemisphere. Visitors are free to admire the building, inside and out, from 8.30am to 5pm every weekday. A free guided tour is available every Monday at 10am, except on public holidays.

The Town Hall is now a concert venue with some of the best acoustics in the land. The Adelaide Symphony Orchestra regularly performs there and many recitals allow visitors to enjoy listening to the hall’s large organ.
