Discover the City of Churches... and Festivals
Everything is just a short stroll away from the 29 parks within the city, to the galleries and museums along North Terrace and Adelaide Zoo with the Southern Hemisphere's only two giant pandas. Foodies will be spoilt for choice among the fresh produce and gourmet finds at Adelaide Central Market, or head to Gouger and Rundle Streets for restaurant heaven. Make sure to leave room for the famous chocolates from Haigh's and wines from some of Australia's best-known producers right on Adelaide's doorstep.
Adelaide's shopping precinct is concentrated along Rundle Mall in the CBD with arcades, shopping centres and laneways to wander around. Head out from the city and catch a tram to explore the beachside destination of Glenelg with the popular Brighton Beach area just a walk along the esplanade. It's worth timing your Adelaide holiday to take advantage of some of the amazing festivals during the year including WOMADelaide, and Adelaide Fringe or, for the sporting enthusiasts, Tour Down Under and Clipsal 500 races.
