Go wild at Perth Zoo

More than 170 species and an incredible 1,300 animals live at the Perth Zoo. Their comfortable enclosures are based on their habitats in the wild and allow the animals to engage in their natural behaviours. The zoo’s beautiful gardens create an oasis in the city where you can spend the day with native creatures of Australia, the Americas, Africa and Asia.

Perth Zoo also works to conserve native and exotic species in the wild through breeding programs and conservation projects in Australia and beyond. Keeper talks and behind-the-scenes Close Encounter experiences will make your visit truly memorable.

Take to the River

It’s impossible not to notice the beautiful Swan River when you visit Perth. To make the most of it during your stay, stroll, jog or bike your way along the paved cycle paths stretching for kilometres along its banks. You can hire a bicycle built for two by the hour, as well as single adult and children’s bikes. Helmets are also for hire.

The Bell Tower is a Swan River landmark, housing the centuries-old 12 bells of St Martin-in-the-Fields church from London’s Trafalgar Square, and six additional bells bringing the total to 18. Bell-handling demonstrations are on twice weekly, and full bell-ringing sessions occur at midday on Monday, Thursday, Saturday and Sunday.
