Discover the arts and nature in Salzburg
It may be one of the smaller provinces in Austria, but Salzburg has a big love for the arts and classic traditions. The largest city in the area, with the same name, was the birthplace of Mozart and contains a regal appeal that can't be missed. From luxurious 5-star residences that make you feel like royalty, to comfortable budget-friendly hotels, the city of Salzburg leaves everyone satisfied.
Also in the province is Zell am See, where high-quality hotels are complemented by the picturesque glaciers, mountains and lake. People come here to escape amongst nature and divine lodgings such as the ski-in ski-out Hotel Berner and the 4-star Hotel Waldorf, Hotel Latini and Hotel Tirolerhof.
The historical and contemporary Vienna
As the largest city in Austria, Vienna impresses with its several districts, Heritage-listed city centre and numerous entertainment options. When looking for hotels in Vienna, you need to consider which part of the city you wish to stay in. For prime city-centre location, you can't go past the hotels in Innere Stadt, which keep you close to the historic attractions and traditional restaurants.
On the other side of the river is Leopoldstadt with its gorgeous Prater Park complete with giant Ferris wheel, and its collection of riverfront hotels. Stay in one of the outer districts, such as Floridsdorf, Simmering and Penzing, for more quiet surrounds and cosy boutique hotels.
Graz's youthful nature
A little under twenty percent of Graz's population is made up of students from the city's six universities, making it one of the best places in Austria for a bit of youthful fun. It's easy to immerse yourself amongst the younger population, thanks to an assortment of clubs, cocktail bars and pubs. However, Graz still has a historic side in the form of its Heritage-listed Old Town and impressive architectural sights.
Budget-friendly hostels exist outside of Old Town, while the more luxurious hotels place you close to all the cultural attractions. Well-known brands such as ibis, Marriott, Best Western and Mercure sit alongside local jewels including the Schlossberg Hotel and Hotel Zum Dom.
